When Lucia’s chronic tiredness and rising frustration suddenly become a smoldering thirst, a strange woman shows up at her porch, offering water from an old jar. She calls herself The Dreamer. Lucia believes that she is just a tired homeless woman, perhaps a bit crazy, searching for a place to sleep. Too busy to stay and chat, Lucia refuses the water. The Dreamer falls asleep in her yard, and Lucia feels the irresistible urge to drink from her jar. When she dips her glass inside the wide, open-mouth jar, it’s empty. Lucia picks up the jar and tries to pour some water into her glass. Nothing comes out, but the jar sticks to her hands. The Dreamer wakes up, and Lucia begs her to take the jar off. The Dreamer explains that it will only come off if Lucia listens to a story. As the Dreamer tells the story, water begins to pour from the jar.
When Lucia drinks the water, she falls asleep. She finds herself in a strange place. A magical female being shows up, calling herself a Bewomaning Diva, and guides Lucia through a quest. The Bewomaning Diva helps Lucia use the Dreamer’s story to concoct a Female Power Alchemy that brings her life into harmony.
When Lucia finally wakes up, she finds herself at home, the problem that consumed her minutes before now gone. This cycle repeats itself eleven times; as The Dreamer and the eleven Bewomaning Divas help Lucia to create the 11 Female Power Alchemies that help her manifest her dream. Lucia is transformed from a frustrated, financially broke single mother to an affluent woman who is herself an exuberant diva.
Through this inspirational novel, PBS-featured author, artist and shaman Maria Mar conveys the principles of the The Bewomaning Experience(tm), a female-wisdom based life solution system for women.
